BitTorrent inks studio distribution deal

The MPAA will probably proprietarize BitTorrent to make their own proprietary, DRM infested BitTorrent-deriviative commercial distribution network. I don’t think it should be banned or made illegal. Just don’t buy from it and they will just go out of business. I prefer people to legalize their music and movies through places with business models like MagnaTune

MySQL has a similar scheme. If you don’t wanna comply with the GPL and want use it lawsuit-vunerable for-profit commercial venture, you gotta pay. Otherwise its free. I bet BitTorrent will do similar licensing to other clients outside the MPAA.
I don’t know if MySQL does this with the source code though. I know they do it with the binaries. If you want to use a MySQL database without giving up your SQL and possibly application source, you gotta pay.

BitTorrent will live on in its original form by (I think) the original author because I don’t think the deal is an exclusive use or transfer of ownership.? They just got proprietary ownership of the proprietary DRM abomination they spin out of BitTorrent.? I definitly think BT will live on with the existing modders like Azeurous, becuase of the greatness of the GPL and copylefting.

Recruiting Abuses Mount as Army Struggles to Meet Goals

I would’ve easily gotten into any branch of the miltary despite my Autism. After taking the ASVAB in 1993 I was solicited by a military recruiter (mostly Airforce and Navy but also Army and Marines too) once every week or two. I’m pretty sure the military/goverment has a lot of aspies and High-functoing Auties (they usually look like aspies in adulthood possibly with more stimming). I don’t think many recruiters have autism or asperger’s screening policies.

I didn’t know the military rejects autistics like they reject gays. I’ll know that as a draft-dodging method incase George Bush starts some more wars with Iran and beyond. I’m pretty sure most intellectual types can conjur up an asperger’s diagnosis these days. The stigma is going down. It used to be avoid the dreaded autism label at all costs. Now its pretty even when its stigma versus screwing the goverment out of welfare and disability because the stigma is less and the welfare is more. Now add draft dodging….

I noticed the no special-stuff for 12-months so i guess there is not explicit exclusion for autism, but there is still a nice anti-draft exploit though.? This jared guy looks like probably can function without special-ed.? Special-ed has inferior academic standards so you end up academically inferior if you spend too much time in all-day special-ed.? Its probably why i was ‘tweened’ alot in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade (put in a regular classroom for my stronger subjects).? I was fulltime mainstream (no chaperone teacher in the back of the room either) in 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 7th+ grades.

Emule is open source and heavily modded and the mods are highly international. I don’t see Emule really threatened until the AntiChrist (Bible, Revelation, World totalitarian Dictatorship) comes to power (The RIAA is doing far better in controlling music piracy than China is on either piracy or Bible contraband though). Holland may crackdown on the 60-70% of the server capacitythats located there under bomb and saction threats from corporate-influenced GBush but there’s still KAD….

And I’m a helper too – I share both the compiled binary and the source code for the vanilla official Emule Client and the MorphXT MOD. I probably will start sharing other mods and their sources too like Extreme. I also share the server software too.

Now If only Lugdunum would give out the sources for his Eserver. Lugs conquered it from MetaMachine through extensive reverse engineering and subsequent updates. Lugdunum out-talents the corporate syndicate of the RIAA as they can’t keep up with the features and versioning of their fakes. Their descriptions and unbalanced user/file ratios (varies in either direction) and often outdated version numbers easily exposes them as fakes. Only China is learning with their fake servers where you need more than just looking at the extended server detail columns to spot them.

It really sucks that nearly half of the ED2K servers are in the Netherlands. A nationwide crackdown in that one country, and half the servers are gone?? So if you live elsewhere (Preferably outside of Germany and France also) and have a lot of bandwidth (T1+) and a machine with a lot of RAM (2GB+), go download a server and set it up. A Chinese person is downloading my Tongue-o-rama videos that I made at Phoenix First Assembly of God. They run the Dream Centers in Los Angeles and Phoenix (Under Construction). Maybe stuff like that can be built in China, if that opressive goverment can be dumped.

I felt like posting screenies of my server, upload queue, and Share views. PowerShares are ‘Power’ becuase they get to jump the queue but they can backlong into the ‘queue before the queue’. My queue is 5-20 fo rpowershares and 150-400 total. 150-200 of the queue is all my PermaShares and the rest are from the mandatory sharing of downloads-in-progress and recent completions (until you get home and pull it out, if you want to pull it out). You can see some the Kitar Discography having some upload credits (some alot) in the rating column. Even with me biasing against ‘part file’ sharing, people who give me a lot of bytes are still getting a lot of boost from their credits. I could choose to turn off the credit system to totally gaurentee my permashares having total preference, but I think its good to reward non-leeches and choose not to as it is good for the health of the network. Also you need the MorphXT mod for the country flags. The official (‘Vanilla’) client doesn’t support country flags (IP2Country mapping). Many other mods other than MorphXT do though, so go shopping.

Don’t ever connect to a fake server! If you connect to a fake server you not only get invalid, bullshit, or no results for your searches, but you also publish your shares directly to the RIAA/MPAA/police!! If you connect to a fake server while sharing dozens of DVDs or album-archives or hundreds of individual MP3s, you will definitly go into the hotlist for a lawsuit! Also as Emule queries all servers (eventually) for sources, it is important to keep fake servers out of your server list as it is a method of tracking demand for their files.

Yes the Isreali government is running fake servers, and so does the Chinese government. Nearly every server in the USA is fake and any that aren’t fake don’t last long. Live ED2K servers have the shortest life expectancy in the USA than any other country in the world. These IP ranges are already included in the new blocklist data from BlueTack though they are using a much wider range.

An IP blocker only protects you from indiscriminate, untargeted bulk monitoring from a centralized data center. It does not protect you at all if you are already being investigated on an individually or small-group targeted basis. Fake servers are only one of the ways they can find out what your sharing. If you make your shares publicly retrievable, it is even more important to have an up-to-date ip blocker. A share list can also be reverse engineered by spider-querying the network, which if you block their IP, they won’t be able to connect to you but they wills till know that the server/kad served you up as a source, but they will never get bytes from you.

Also as you notice the words ‘porn’, ’spyware’, and ‘hacker’, if you want your IP blocker to work all the time, get ProtoWall and BlockList Manager from BlueTack. They are freeware and Protowall will scale to 100,000+ ip-ranges better than any firewall box will (even the expensive ones).
